Boat Cruise 2012!

 The cost is normally $30, but thanks to SAF it only costs $7.50 for IIT students! Sign up at the link above. You'll have to pay $30 up front, but just email iitcruATgmailDOTcom your confirmation receipt to let us know you're going and we'll set you up to get reimbursed by the school. Alternatively, if $30 is a problem for you, talk to Cru Servant Team member Ryan Cummings (rcummin1AThawkDOTiitDOTedu)and he can help you out.

Boat Cruise is September 23rd and the highlight of the semester. See you there!

We've reserved space for next week's weekly meeting. It'll be in the Pritzker Club (restaurant in the northwest corner of MTCC.) We are not having food, so be sure to eat before you come.

Second Weekly Meeting and Movie Night

Hey, Cru People!

Don't forget we've got our second weekly meeting coming up tonight at 8:15pm. Nick will be talking about prayer and we've got our first small group meetings of the semester.

Also, don't forget we've got a movie night coming up on Friday at 8pm. Movie choices are anything in my dvds, hard drive, amazon, and netflix. Let us know (RSVP on our facebook event page or talk to Kathleen at the meeting tonight) if you're coming, especially if you live off campus.

Weekly Meetings

After polling everyone, it looks like the time that accomodates the most people for weekly meeting is Tuesdays from 8:15pm to 10:15pm. Servant Team is really sorry for those who this doesn't work out for. We hope we'll still see you around campus and at events

Spring Break Trips

Hey everyone,

Spring Break is coming up faster than you think (just over a month!) and if you don't have any plans yet, why not come with Cru on one of our mission trips? There's one going to Guayaquil, Ecuador and another to Panama City Beach, Florida. Both are great opportunities to spend the week working for God and getting a break from the Chicago weather.

Guayaquil, Ecuador

Chicago Cru has a overseas partnership with Universidad de Guayaquil in Guayaquil, Ecuador. You'll have the chance not only to experience Ecuador and its culture, but also to share the gospel with a campus of 80,000 receptive students! Panama City Beach, Florida

Panama City Beach is the location of Big Break, a conference of Cru students from across the nation. There will be seminars on different topics throughout the week and you'll get to learn to share your faith with college students on the beach. The general cost for the trip is $299 plus food and transportation, but talk to Ryan (rcummin1[AT]hawk[DOT]iit[DOT]edu) this week to get in a great discount for IIT students from SAF. Hey Everyone!

I hope the start of your semester is going well. Cru has some awesome events coming up, so get excited!

First off is our weekly meeting this Monday at 7:45 in the Colored Rooms. We'll be talking about Cru's vision and establishing small groups, so this is a great chance to find out what Cru is about.

Women's Overnight
Join the women of Chicago Cru for a Pintresting Women’s Night. We’ll have snacks, time in The Word together, and time to make crafty things. Cost is $20. Go to chicagocru.com to find out more and register or talk to Kathleen, Emily, or Jordan.

Men's Overnight
Join other student men from campuses all over Chicagoland for our first men’s overnight. We’ll be exploring the uniqueness of walking with and serving God as men, eating good food, and having a lot of fun. Church Sampler
Come with Cru to visit various churches around Chicago. This week we're going to Harvest Bible Chapel. We'll be meeting by Global Grounds at 8:30 am to travel there together. Talk to anyone on Servant Team for details.

Career Connect
Find out what it's like to work in industry as a man or woman of God. Talk to professionals in non-ministry fields and see what they're doing to live Godly lives and spread His Word.

Ice Skating
Come join IIT Cru for an awesome afternoon of fellowship, ice skating, and hot chocolate! We'll be meeting by Global Grounds and renting skates from the CCC, so the cost is only $3!

Spring Semester!

Hey, everyone! I hope you've had a good break. Cru has a lot of awesome plans to start off the next semester. Our first general meeting will be on January 9th (MONDAY) at 7:30pm in Rm 706 in MTCC. Also, next Saturday (the 14th) we'll be heading downtown for ice skating and hot chocolate! Check out the calendar for more details on these events.
